Great! I just installed a new nforce 4 Saturday. Paulh wrote about utilities to throttle the vid card. Has anyone heard of one?

and through the use of a Microsoft utility that allows you to set specific processor affinity for each UAD1 card.

What utility, and how would one use it? (If it's not blindingly obvious...)

a little OT

Jim Rosebery has said mayn times that ULI16xx is really great chipset for DAW. I belive him and will advice you to check that chipset (ie gigybyte K8U). It seems that it is really great mobo. It doesnt have problems with PCIE boards and it is very fast.

Does anyone successfully "bounce to track" Sonar projects that have GigaStudio3 samples in it? I have not been able to mixdown any Giga stuff in my Sonar 5 projects. I've tried all sorts of things, including using Giga as a VS, but Sonar will just not allow me to mixdown Giga stuff. When I bounce to track or freeze synth, I end up with a "flatline" audio file (an audio file with no sound in it). Is any one able to mixdown GigaStudio sounds within Sonar; if you can, then I will know that it can be done and will continue to try.
Thanks,
Peter S

Peter,

Move this out into the Sonar forum as a new thread.
No one will see it inside of a thread that is dealing with an other subject.

Hi, I've just started following this issue, since I have recently built a system around the GA-K8N PRO-SLI. One thing I'm wondering.. THe board has a setting to allow 16x or 8x operation for the PCI-e slots. would 8x cause less of a problem for hogging the bus?
