PDC and sync problems..

the current project I am working on is rather big,.. lot's of softsynth and plugins.. (as usual).
I have 2 options to add f.e. guitar tracks to that project.
for low latency I
a.) globaly disable the effects, decrease the latency on my FF800 and enable input monitoring on the new track
b.) I leave everything as it is, NO "echo" enabled, using the FF800 mixer for direct monitoring, latency around 512samples.

Yesterday I went for version b.) and found that the new recorded audio track would not align at the right time.. it was totaly out of sync.

So in which configuration would you enable/disable PDC.. does it matter at all ?
First time I've seen such an issue.
thx
Frank

Whether input monitoring with PDC Override enabled or direct monitoring, if you play a sound in sync with what's coming out of you monitors (no matter how delayed by PDC), the newly recorded material should sync up in the timeline and on playback. If not, there's a problem with the way some plug is reporting its added latency or the way SONAR is compensating it.

I would make a copy of the project, and start removing PDC plugs (you have to actually remove them from the project to eliminate their latency) until you find the one causing trouble, see if you can reproduce it in a smaller project, and report it to Cakewalk (assuming you can't find any previous reports of issues with that plug anywhere).
