POPs and sudden STOPs
after last upgrade, this program, is introducing anthor problem, I thought we had enough now... but, it at least seems to have fixed the metronome.... when I opened a project after last upgrade, the prgram got heavier, I have adjusted the QU -32 to "safe" and 4000samples. I did not have this prplem before I upgraded. The sounds ckacks and sound with a lot of popps and also suddenly stops somethimes. When I turn OFF my all the plugins fram FabFilter adn Izotope, it works. an part also drops out, from som instruments randomly. I dont know what you did this time. but YOU will just have to tell me how to turn this last update OFF, and resett it to hwo it worked ! You probably have put in to musch **** in the program. and so tell me how I can set SONAR to run most processor efficiant.. can I uninstall som plugins ? or synts, that I dont use........ I cannot trust you , and do updates anylonger. You only put thinsgs in there to sell, 3. party prgram, right, and we customer that payed over 1000dollars all tohether suffer from this greed. Soon this program is useless !!!!!!!

We also need to bear in mind that the Windows 10 Creators Update has caused many a sound issue for Windows users (whether they have a DAW or not.) I'm looking forward to the Windows 10 Fall update coming in October. My Windows 10 system since the Creators Update has occasional pops or split-second sound dropouts just watching YouTube or listening to MP3s and not even related to Sonar. Just last night I reinstalled Windows 10 twice (the second time telling it not to automatically update manufacturers drivers, before connecting online) and I'm still getting the same issue in Windows - again not related to Sonar at all. Just reading the comments in YouTube under Windows 10 sound issues, I can see that many people have had issues since the Windows 10 Creator Update. So, be aware that it's not always the fault or an issue with Sonar or any other manufacturer's app. The Windows 10 Fall Update is coming in October.

There's been no other reports of this type troubleshot to Sonar issues from the last update. As mentioned above have any default audio drivers been reset by other updates such as Windows 10 or? After checking drivers and complete audio path, Maybe use Safe mode to load certain plugs and go forward. I had this problem after a couple Windows updates before where the audio path was reset to factory audio and became apparent after I opened Sonar and had the same problems you're mentioning.
Or if the program will soon become worthless to you it may be best to change to a different program now while you're making changes.

Metaclass, Try going into preferences and either enabling or disabling plugin load balancing to see if it helps.

well, I dont have windows 10,b ut 7, 64 bit. I went through a process, disabeling drivers, and tuning everything. I also now shut off antivirus, shut off Inet driver . the program freeze after someminutes of use, and then somtime, after about 3-4 min. somes back, but as soon as stop the music track, it freezes again. I dont know what the latest win update did, but, I always had the Hig Definition Audio device, able before, so I practically could listen to two card at the same time ( no reason for that but.........:) I have to turn ON the Allen Heath qu 32 , before, shis ASIO driver starts. Since last time I installed the EW Holywood Orhchestra, all the sound on a separate HD, but I never used it in SONAR yet .

I tried to "scan the plugins, now, after opening SONAR..... it uses unusual long time to start, by tha way..... when I run scan I get, after some scanning the report : System Registry Error - warning........... I hope you can explain this to me, you peole at Cakewalk, I really had enough fo this now ! Its suggest to reinstall the aplication, or contact the Provider.... I better call this time. I cannot have this, after I agreed to buy a life time upgrade, this program started to unstable, thats a fact ! and I asked long time ago, how do I remove, / delete some of the built in plugins, they fill up the program, and just take recourses, thats what I think...... I have my own plugins that I bought from 3. party.........
