POSSIBLE PROBLEM FOR SLATE DIGITAL VCC USERS WITH QUICKFIX...

After installing the "Quickfix" my Slate Digital VCCs are throwing up dialogs on project startup saying I need to authorize them.  And since they are instantiated on every single track in my projects and every singel instance of them brings up a new dialog...that's pretty darn annoying.  I, of course, am an idiot as I just installed the Quickfix without a restore point...oh, hell, let's be honest here....I don't even know how to "restore".  But anyway, just to be on the safe side:  If you are still using the beta version of VCC (I'm waiting for the 64bit final) and are thinking of running the "Quickfix" you might want to hold off.  Just a heads up.

Now don't know if it's directly related to the Quickfix.  What is happening is that my new version 2 iLok is not being recognized by either X1 or the iLok site itself. Luckily it only has my Slate Digital VCC, FG-X and the new Sound Toys free Devil Lock on it.  But, as I said, the VCC is on every dang channel of almost all my projects.  Dern!

    Hey yoropal,

no problems with VCC (other than the usual ones) but my mouse is now behaving strange since installing the quickfix..jumpy, won't release moving parameters etc.

    maybe related, who knows?

Now iLok's site isn't seeing any of my (3) iLoks.  I've had this happen before but never where one just goes missing.  Again, I worked all weekend with X1b and my setup just as it is now.  I installed the Quickfix just about an hour ago and the next time I powered up X1 this happened.  Don't know how the QF could screw up the new (or old) iLok setup but who knows??

The quick fix was supposed to have created a backup of your Cakewalk folder so you could easily revert back.

    Backup & Recovery
The QuickFix installer will automatically backup your existing SONAR installation, the default location will be 'C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR VERSION\Backup\DATE\Version_Build.Number'  If for any reason you need to restore to X1b you can do so by replacing the files in your installation directory with the ones found in the Backup folder

Make sure you've got the latest drivers.

OK...here's the latest ghost story.  I kinda figured out how to do a system restore and told it to go back to day before yesterday...the last time I added any new thing.  Then it threw up the "preparing to restore system" dialog....and just stayed there for what seemed like forever...so...me being the impatient dimwit that I am...I finally just cold rebooted the computer.  And guess what?  No, go on guess.  Now everything is showing up just fine.  Like there was never any trouble to begin with.  Why must these computers torture me so???!!  I hate their ass-faces!!  (Thank you, Corky St. Clair)

olpal, sorry to hear about your problems. If you want to revert I'm thinking kevo's directions to find the backup file are accurate as I just went and checked.

In the directory he describes you'll find another SONARPDR.exe file which I assume is the backup. I would GUESS you'd replace your current SONARPDR file with this file in located the Backup directory. Of course better yet rename your existing SONARPDR file to SONARPDR_OLD or something then replace the file and see what gives. Worst case just rename the file back and you're back in (or out in this case) of business.

Your current SONARPDR file is located here C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar X1 Producer

    Keep us posted

The problem, according to Slate, is with Pace. You know, that copy-protection scheme that never has any problems.

Yup, I've downloaded BUT NOT INSTALLED the new 135 version of VCC.  I thought I'd wait until the smoke cleared.  Another question I have is:  Once you install the new 64bit version in the 64 bit vst folder do you have to remove the 32 bit version from a 32 bit folder.  I seem to remember something in either the installer or something Steven said that they install all plugs 32 bit or 64bit into the 64bit folder.  I'm not at my DAW now or I'd check.  Any info on this??  I've got VCC installed on every track in my Normal Template and don't want it to start going nuts when trying to load because it's seeing the "wrong" plug.
