POST UPSTAIRS: XLN ADPaks Half Off at the XLN Store for X3 users.

Go the XLN site, pick you ADPaks, add to cart...

Enter Code:  SONARX3

Get half off...

I checked it...it works...only good for 3 days.

Does it work for the midi paks as well?

Just to let you guys know that This Sonar 50 discount seems to work on ADPak Bundles as well as the individual ADPaks.  I just purchased the Jazz Songwriters pack with my Sonar discount and it only cost $49.98.  That pack comes with two ADPaks, Jazz sticks, Jazz brushes and also a new Gen-X 22 bass drum.  I was surprised that the 50% discount worked with bundles, but it did.  That ends up being about $25 per pack [not counting the additional bass drum].  I am new to XLN Addictive Drums but have been impressed with the presets that come with the version in SonarX3.  I had been looking at the Jazz packs because the brushes seem to be better than the ones in TT (which are very good themselves); Addictive Brushes uses a new technology to get the swirls right.    Anyway, this three day sales seem good and it does seem to work with AdPak Bundles.  A good deal I think.

I tried to use the discount code on two of the midi paks and it did not work for me.

    Kind regards,

Not sure if this is an option for you but, if you already owned AD prior to Sonar X3 they will take the AD serial number that came with X3 in trade for AD or midi paks.

I sent them an email request, which they promptly answered, and were kind enough to trade me 6 midi paks for the AD serial number.

Which would be the better buy: Indie + Vintage Dry or Retro?

I've got all three and while AD considers Retro more valuable... I like the Indie + Vintage Dry option better. In fact, that's what I got for my "free" AdPaks since I already owned AD when I upgraded to X3Pro.

Since Black Velvet and Vintage Dry are the only two AD Paks I do not own, I'm requesting those through Customer Support.

Could someone who has both, compare Session percussion to Ez Drummer Latin percussion? I'm thinking Toontrack will be better because of the shakers and cabasa.
