I JUST TRIED TO USE THE MOST RECENT UPDATE UPGRADE FOR MC5 AND IT JUST WONT SAVE ON MY FLASH DRIVE! ANY SUGGESTIONS?? IM HOPING THAT IT WILL FIX MY RECORDING PROBLEMS. I CANT REALLY EXPLAIN IN TECH TERMS BUT AFTER AWHILE RECORDING ITS STARTS PICKING UP FEED BACK OR SOMETHING! EVEN IF I UNPLUG THE MIC IT STILL SEEMS TO BE RECORDING SOMETHING! I DONT KNOW IF ITS MY MIC INTERFACE(TASCAM US122L_WHICH I UPDATED SO I COULD USE IT ON WINS7) OR COMPUTER(EMACHINE ET1331G-07W AMD ATHLON llx2 processor 4gb memory 640hard drive. SOMEBODY ANYBODY PLEASE HELP!!

Which update for MC 5? Which update for the TASCAM? Is it a 64-bit operating system? By the amount of memory you have, I'm guessing yes. MC is not compatible with 64-bit operating systems unless it's run in 32-bit emulation mode. What is listed in MC under Options>Audio>Playback Device and Recording Device? What Driver Mode are you using? Have you opened the TASCAM's mixer and checked it's settings? Have you heard that all capital letters in a forum post is considered yelling? It's probably a setting in the US122 that's causing it, since MC only records what's sent to it.

Turn off the caps.... it's understood that using caps is equivalent to YELLING .... very rude.... I don't care because too much loud music has upped my appreciation for folks that speak loudly. Try saving it to the computer... not a flashdrive. Even though MC5 is designed to be used on W7... I think it needs to be run in 32 bit mode as Greg said above. Greg speaks truth.... even though he looks a bit young, he is experienced......read his post carefully.

im away from home right now so i cant really tell you what the the tascam update is but i think its the 122mkll or something like that. And im speaking on the mc5 update that is the first one listed in the cake walk forum. sorry bout the caps i was using my phone- i wasnt tryin to be rude. i think i have the tascam wdm and its set at 40.2m low latency- which it works good for awhile then it starts to agt up again. So i tried to change it to asio-122mkll and it just drops out so i switch it back which it works for a while then starts acting up again! smh!! i already have it in emulation mode too. i as have mc4 which worked great on xp and it was working on wins7 too but it kicked me out wheni could produce the registration code which i had once before but lost it.

you'll have to help us out more about exactly what the problem is. I understand you don't know the terminology, but we can't see what you see or hear what you hear, so be as descriptive as you can. when you say it has "feedback" even after you unplug the mic. how are you seeing or hearing this? give us detailed description. is the track still armed? are you seeing something on the meters? are you hearing it thru your speakers? more details, please. and as far as the MC update - there are 2 listed on the top of the forum, one for LE and one for the full MC5. which one are you trying to use and which version do you have? and why are you trying to save it on a flash drive?

i just notice that the update i was trying to use is not for the program im using which is mc5. and visually it appears to be picking up vocals and when i listen to it its my previous recordings vocals and all! and yes it occurs when its armed if you mean when i click the record button by the track and at the top of the screen.

Good, about the 32-bit emu... So each successive track is recording the previous tracks on it? That's definitely an audio interface setting. In some sound cards it's listed as WhatUHear or Stereo Mix. See if the TASCAM has such a setting that's on. You may have to read the manual. If you bought it used without the book, you can probably download it from the TASCAM web site. In MC Options>Audio, what is listed as Recording Device? If it's not the TASCAM, switch it to the TASCAM. The Playback Device, too.

funtane hey guys can i get a quality mastered cd using only mc5? is the boost 11 used with mc5? Yes you can. But you need a lot of knowledge on how to best mix a song and master a CD. I'm still learning that, too. Boost 11 will work with MC 5, but I can't recall if it's one of the included effects. It is for sale at the Cakewalk store.

i dont think its apart of the effects that come with the software but i been hearing some peaking and i was just wondering would that help( boost11) or could i just use what i have on the software to correct it. im still learning it too but i have started to fine tune the song and really ready to complete it but like the old sayin goes- ya cant rush perfection! (i guess)

According to the spec page for boost 11 it was made for XP and Vista. I would imagine it would work in Win7 but you won't know until you try. Why not call Cake sales and ask. Noting wrong with the horses mouth on these things.

Boost 11 worked for me on my new Win 7 computer. What do you mean by "peaking"? If it was clipping during the recording there's no way to remove it. If it's clipping on playback (didn't clip on recording) just lower the volumes.
