PRV Pick Tracks / Unhide - hide existing tracks OPTION PLEASE
Hi cakewalk
It would be nice to add a option in the PRV Window - so when we add a new track through pick tracks , all the existing hidden tracks don't UNHIDE .
This could be very easily added by just making it so when Cakewalk users lock a track in prv window , then it also stops this automatic unhiding when adding a new track !
Thanks very much

Sonar use the standard widows Crtl key for selecting from a list. If when you open the pick list you hold the Ctrl key you can select the additional track(s) without losing the current tracks viewed.

Hi wookiee
Thanks but I am actually talking about current tracks in the prv window that has been hidden by myself becoming automatically un hidden when I add a new track via pick tracks > ctrl new track .
I have a lot of hidden tracks in one prv window and everytime I need to add a new track it's a buzz kill to have to rehide everything, I think it's something that should be easily implemented and I think It should be there to tighten the lock function for each track in the prv .
Thanks

I will have to check this out and get back to you. I did a little test. 1. New project from the Start screen 2. Use the add track button to add 8 new midi only tracks. 3. Selected tracks 2, 4, 6 and 8 by Ctrl Click then selected hide tracks from right click context menu. 4. The four remaining tracks 1, 3, 5 and 7 were then selected and from views menu I selected the PRV, then with the Multidock expanded but still docked so I had the PRV full screen. 5. From the Tracks Menu I Ctrl clicked on the <new> option which resulted in a new track being added, track 9. 6. In both the track view and PRV the only tracks displayed are 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 the new track Check your PM's there is a link to a video gif (view in your browser) showing this happening. Let me know if I am missing the point.

Pardon me for jumping in. I believe the OP is referring to the Show/Hide Track visibility buttons in the Piano Roll View Track Pane. This functionality is independent of the Track Manager and Hide Track functions in the Track View Steps to reproduce:1. Create new project 2. Add 5 MIDI tracks 3. Select tracks 1-3 and open PRV view 4. Verify that the Track Pane is visible using View > Show Hide/Track Pane menu option 5. Click the Show/Hide Track button (tinted button with the 2 eighth notes) in the Track Pane for track 2 and track 3 to turns off the visibility of the notes for track 2 and 3. 6. Use the Tracks > Pick Tracks... dialog to add tracks 4 and 5 to the PRV. Ctrl+click must be used to retain tracks 1-3. Expected results:The PRV Track Pane contains 5 tracks and the Show/Hide Track button is enabled for tracks 1, 4, and 5. The Show/Hide Track buttons for tracks 2 and 3 remains disabled as set in step 5 above . Actual results:The PRV Track Pane contains 5 tracks and the Show/Hide Track button is enabled for tracks 1,2,3,4 and 5. [FAILED] Hope this helps, -- Ron

Squirebum yes that is a problem in the scenario you give, but did I not read taccess when I add a new track via pick tracks > ctrl new track .
Which implies he is adding a new track? I can see that this does still indeed cause all the track data to become visible. However you could argue that you are in away telling the software to display all the tracks plus a new one. Because the Pick Tracks dialogue is asking you which tracks do you want to see in the PRV window which in affect overrides the fact that you have previously told the PRV to hide the date but still include the tracks in the PRV. Not sure if that is a bug or intended however I would recommend reporting it here with as much detail and some screen shots as well to clarify.

Hi everyone ,
I will give some steps tooo,
1) add 5 midi tracks to one prv window 2) hide all 5 tracks with the ( show / hide track visibility in prv window ) 3) pick tracks> ctrl > add track 6
4) the problem is all the tracks automatically un hide ( so now all 6 midi tracks - midi notes are showing again )
I have a lot of midi data on a lot of tracks in one prv window and I hide what I am not using so when I go to add a new track it would be nice if they stayed hidden , so I was thinking - next to the show/ hide button is a lock button , maybe the lock button can be master to the show / hide button or something like that .
Thanks
