PRV Snap Will Not Toggle On/Off is Global Snap If Disabled [Solved] (Sort Of?)

Is this by design?

We still seem to have some old baggage here.... If the object of disconnecting PRV Snap from Global Snap was to truly make them separate, we have a bug here...

I cannot enable/disable PRV Snap if/when Global Snap is Off...

Very uncomfortable.... Now there's twice as many buttons that are required to handle this task.... Same as zooming Lanes... Two separate zoom commands required to get a Lane zoomed!!! (Sorry for bringing that up here, but I'm still shocked by the supposed fix for Lane zooming!)

The X3c bug list mentions lane zooming, so maybe today's patch will help ?

No, it was a bug in X3b that PRV snap was not following Global snap On/Off status as in earlier releases, and as documented in the X3 (and earlier) Ref. Guide. This has been fixed in X3c; first thing I tested. Your N hotkey will toggle both on and off if PRV snap is enabled.

Not here...

The global key N will not toggle the PRV snap... and I filed both a bug report and a feature request...

The reply to my bug report is that it is working as intended and that I should FR the issue instead.... I even mentioned your post regarding thie quote from the guide that you provided...

Hmmm... On further investigation is appears that snap is still strange... It only works if I have both Global and PRV Snap On and disabling PRV Snap does NOT turn it off...

Now Snap changes to follow Global Snap if PRV Snap is disabled...

I guess the idea now is that N does indeed toggle the actual Snap On/Off in both TV and PRV... Enabling Snap in PRV simply changes which value the PRV is using... This will take a little getting used to, but I think I see the logic now...?

I haven't tried X3c yet, but I think that's the idea.  And if so, I do like it - separate snap values when enabled, and one key to enable/disable snap in both places.

Yes...

It makes sense, but the on-screen display leaves it a bit confusing as the PRV Enable/Disable stays lit... I do see that the value changes from deep blue to light blue so I guess that's the way to know that it is disabled... It stays toggled on/off as having a separate snap "when snap is enabled" which makes sense...

I guess I can get used to that, but it sure had me confused for a bit this morning...

Right now my bigger issue is with Lane Zoom which was "fixed" and is now far worse for me than before leaving it still unfixed and I must execute TWO zoom commands to zoom a lane as close to what I want as the sytem will allow... I must zoom the time area by whichever method and then move the mouse the the Lane-divider (in TV controls) and drag the Lane's height up/down....

Very frustrating when preformed countless times/day... But this is for another thread... already in action... ;-)

Thanks for the help...
