PRV View - Can I turn off the sound as I move notes?

My solution is to keybind the audio engine status, and toggle it off when I'm editing. This has the added advantage of taking the idling load off our CPU which can speed up big edits, and helps save the planet.

Unfortunately, X1 no longer gives you access to the function so you can bind it; you have to do it in an earlier version, and import keybindings.

    In PRV.
Mute the track; hit H to show the Track Pane(for easier access with one monitor screen display)

I know it gets loud when copy/move many notes.

Not quite as elegant as an option to not sound moving notes but assuming you are using the smart tool you can do this...........

Select notes to move. Alt+right click mutes them all. Move them then alt+right click again.

May or may not help you.

I meant to add this to my post. But then I stopped to verify it still works in X1 and found that I was not getting polyphonic note audition - only hearing the one clicked note of a lassoed selection. The thing is, sometime in the SONAR 8 cycle, this option moved from the Edit MIDI Event Type dropdown in the upper left corner of the PRV to the PRV Tool Configuration dialog which no longer exists in X1. So I'm wondering: did X1 inherit polyphonic auditioning for some users and monophonic for others?

I checked the various INI files and the registry, and can't see an option for setting it. Anyone know where it was stored in SONAR 8?

The option of polyphonic/monophonic auditioning is still there in X1 however I am not at home, at my DAW so I cannot point you directly to the option. I have definitely set it to monophonic when I first time installed X1.

Try Advanced settings and maybe EDIT or MIDI menus in the Preferences. If I remember correctly it is in the Preferences menu, somewhere. Go through each of the sub-menus and search for Monophonic/Polyphonic auditioning or so... :)

I cannot give you more precise help until Thursday... :(

    Best Regards,
    Marek

Ah, yes, so it is: Preferences > Customization > Editing > MIDI section

    Thanks.

Bingo :)  ...so now I can cancel installing the demo just to help with this... ;)

Adam, go check that option. That should do the trick. I am using it as well. :)
