PRV -select controllers with notes --- selects controllers on wrong track

Multiple tracks open in a PRV window, select a group of notes for one track only.  You'd expect the controllers that go on that track to be selected.  But no, Sonar selects all the controllers for any track being viewed, but ONLY the controllers and not the notes.   So visually, it appears that the right thing is selected, while in fact hidden controllers are selected.   Then cut the selection, paste somewhere else: presto, one of those mysterious things where suddenly your mix is different than you think.    ..... this one, I believe, is why I was so often so hating of sonar, lost work, unpredictable changes, un-traceable appearance of controllers elsewhere than they were wanted.
