    Just an opinion.

Can't lose too much on this, so okay for a try. Demo available which I would give a spin first.

The only plug of the 4 that did anything useful for me was the pseudo stereo unit.

Clean, and some good manipulation of frequency control over the bandwidths that use millisec delays to fake stereo from mono.

As cheap as it is, could see this as just another money bleed that would never get used afer a couple days playing with it. Others may find it usefull depending on what you're looking for, so not to put a damper on the sale.

I'm kind of thinking this way too John. Cake's channel tools along with other gadget plugins I have may already cover what these do and more. However, anything from PSP on the cheap gets my attention to at least do a little research. I may sit this one out...

    Fleer,

Piano verb is a great reverb. Underground classic. As labeled, put this thing after a piano and it's evident where the name came from. Has a good niche for the things it can do. If the full version is included, buy the stereo plugs to get Piano verb.

Likely you get the lite version which is already free, and is cool within limitations.

Like Musicroom said, anything from PSP is worth a heads up. The pseudo stereo thing is quite nice and the analyzer gives a visual rep of how the stereo field is being warped on a track. Don't know what the other two plugs do. They are too subtle for my ears.

As quality as they are, just sat back and wondered if there was anything there that would inspire me to get the next platinum album out.

Nope... Spent the money instead on a transient case of beer with about the same end point results.

FYI, there wasn't any further discount in the user area for us 'registered users of our other processors plug-ins'.

$19 is still worth it, but definitely go with the JRR shop for that better price.

I only own PSP Meters and Pianoverb, and I had discount of like 61 cents...the discount is based
on what you own...just make sure you are logged in when putting it in the cart...otherwise
    the discount won't show up.

It's still cheaper to get it at JRR Shop...

For those interested or think these plug-ins are not worth the money I can certainly say they are and are excellent. Not only at this price but they work very well.

I have always been interested in plug-ins that convert mono sources to stereo or create stereo width from mono sounds. The Pseudo Stereo plug-in is very good in this regard.

It seems to do it effortlessly and what is really cool is that when you collapse this down to mono and check out how good it sounds in mono (which is very hard test) it still sounds excellent under these conditions.

I have not tried the others yet but I am sure they are very good too. Good value. There are 4 in all and one of them is an excellent stereo width monitor which lets you see how your stereo imaging is looking etc..

Wouldn't it be easier to clone the mono track, offset one clip a bit and get the same effect?

No, because it not the same sort of thing. Firstly when you start cloning and delaying one side it is when you get into mono summing all sorts of things happen. Comb filtering effects, the tone of the sound can change dramatically. Strange things can happen in mono. You may say what if we are in stereo all the time and we don't sum. Things seem to sound a little better if they can be wide but at the same time they collapse into mono well. The clone/delay thing does not always satisfy both of those requirements well. Other methods of creating stereo imaging can.

I think it may be more frequency dependant, dividing parts of the spectrum up and panning those sections, keeping things below a certain lowish frequency in mono and centered. I guess they might be adding some very tiny delays here and there in various frequency bands etc..They say they are trying to replicate the sound as if two microphones recorded it rather than one. There does not seem to be any timing differences in what they seem to be doing. So it all ends up wide and interesting and still sounding great and robust in mono.

What is cool is that there is a whole bunch of factory presets just related to turning mono into a wider image and they all sound quite different!

I also love a free program called SHEPPi by Bob Katz.

    http://www.kvraudio.com/product/sheppi_spatial_enhancer_by_open_ambience_project

It does a fantastic job too of giving mono sources real width. They do it by working with early reflections a lot and it is a fine approach as well. You can tweak SHEPPI quite a bit for different results.

I am keen to hear both in series for example. (or parallel PSP followed by SHEPPi. (or other way around) It means less work for each of them too for a stronger result.

I must say that I had my doubts. I've never used a spatial thing and it translated to mono. The Stereo Controller does a fantastic job. I don't know what the sliders are supposed to do yet, I can't read them, but the presets work well enough until I know what the sliders names are.

I've been way too busy, so I missed this thread, and bought the StereoPack at PSP. Mine was $17.80, but I am still glad to have it.

Yup - I logged in and already had 3 products in my file, all registered - but no discount applied.

Not a big deal - just a glitch I guess.
