I can't remember exactly when but there was a long standing issue with the pan laws and the way they were applied.

It's been long fixed but again I don't remember when. It would make comparisons between versions that span 11 years pretty pointless to my way of thinking. I wish I could remember more. I'm sure someone will come along to either fill in more details or correct me or both.

Fixed in 8.5.3. Search 'PanLawCompatMode' in the current Reference Guide
