[Parental guidance suggested] PG-14 or 18 depends on your point view

Hi. Just about to put the wraps on this one. But would certainly appreciate the feedback from the cakewalk community. "IN" found here -> http://soundcloud.com/tonehook/in-mp3 So far some comments outside of this forum are the acoustics a bit boomy...but would like a variety of listening environment comments just to get a sense. If you can recommend a freq cut on the acoustics I'm all ears on suggestions http://soundcloud.com/tonehook/in-mp3 Cool and thanks! Thal

I like this song. It sounds just right on my monitors, and I would even let my 14 year old listen to it, except that he's a cat and wouldn't know the difference. Well done.

    All the best,

Thal, this kind of took me by surprise 'cos it's quite different to your usual stuff, but it's excellent. What a creative arrangement, love that guitar riff and the muted trumpet, great stuff. I could imagine Imelda May singing this.

Thank you James. Always a pleasure to get your comments and support. BTW I tried your soundcloud link to your music and it doesn't seem to work for me. Kristen is a new member and she has such great songwriting skills...definitely helped us get past our usually comfort zone and explore different styles.

Nice one Thal!! How many tracks of the acoustic did you record? Blends really well and has the right tone for this tune IMO. Has a bit of a salsa vibe and that trumpet was a nice touch. I liked very much!

Thanks Mr. Hansen! Two tracks of acoustics panned with slightly different voicing's to give it more color. We're gonna give this to Lanita to try out her wonderful vocal interpretation. Video likely soon. Appreciate the listen and comment as always sir. Cheers and good health

Crisp detail-dynamics and timbres ... perfect for the coffee stop, restaurant, late-night club, etc. ... for those cosmopolitan dashing audiences.

TBH, I can think of no negs ... all is awesome ... to the sax outro gently fading.

This is a great song. It's too bad you did not record this in time for the movie Burlesque. This would have made it for sure. It has the slinky sexy sound and some great vox!

You can try taking 400hz down a bit in the bass and bass drum a bit. No more than -3.0db. If you like it, great! If it doesn't work, reset it.

Most stuff I listen to just once. I'm on my third listen!

    Very nice work!

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Just great!  I enjoy the slinky genre of music and between your instruments, production and that wonderful vocalist, this is a top rated tune on my scale!

Really nice stuff thalweg. Love the hook concept.
    Great sound all around.

My only crit would be you need a real trumpet. The synth trumpet sounds a little cheesy compared to the raw realness of everything elese. But, we do tend to go with what we got, eh:) Of course that's just an opinion.

Thanks Timidi...yeah I agree. After a while when mixing, your ears just finally accept the so-so elements as being okay. Definitely going to get real trumpets come final mix. Thanks for the listen and reminder :)
