I Use Paragon's Partition Manager and Exact Image (2 seperate programs both from Paragon) which are excellent and well priced. Available as downloads from Paragon Highly recommend for all manner of partitioning, backup, drive imaging etc. even can create CD images etc. etc.

Bryan: I've been using Partition Magic for years & it's never thrown a rod. Have a hunt around Martin Walker's PC Musician articles over at SOS for some less expensive options.

Thanks for the replies. Your responses were pretty much leading me in the direction of my search. Being that I have never done any partitioning I am venturing into uncomfortable water. The thing is I have this fancy new green/white manual titled, something like, SONAR 5 that came wrapped in plastic w/this thing called a DVD. W/out partitioning that DVD thing will only exist in my physical world and won't be able to enter the virtual world of my DAW. Once I do the partition will the software do any running in the background silly stuff? have a good one 3Eo

You can safely delete the partitioning software after you are done.

Ok, If anybody is interested I decided to go w/Partition Manager. I just did a reallocation of storage space on the C:/D: hard drive. Smooth as butter and ridiculously easy. Next project is seeing if the mackie onyx and SONAR enjoy recording 8 tracks of audio onto a Firewire Seagate 7200 w/16MB Cache. have a good one 3Eo

There is the old free Ranish Partition Manager...but it has no real GUI as I remember and it works only in command line mode.

I recently got Acronis True Image 9 for cloning my C: drive, noticed when I was running it that it creates partitions as a seperate stand alone feature as well. I cloned my drive in 15 minutes flat, was expecting it to take hours, very happy with it.

I know a partition software named Easeus partition master, which can part your drive in a few minutes and the operation is very simple, it is suitable for any PC users.
