Party Like It's 1999! Sonar Does Not Let You Copy/Paste Individual FX!!!

I'm in a good mood -- LET's start with what Sonar does RIGHT!

1) Yes, you can clone a track and it will duplicate its FX chain.

2) Yes, you can save the FX chain as a preset and load the preset on a new track.

3) Yes, you can also save the track as a template which will contain the FX chain.

4) Yes, you can drag-and-drop an FX from one track to another track and this will effectively move it.

EDIT: People have pointed out CTRL+CLICK > Drag to me, but this only works if the tracks are adjacent or in close screen proximity.

With all these elaborate options, why can't I just select a specific FX with a right-click and press "copy" -- and then paste it in another track's FX rack?

If you're using a mouse, just press alt and drag the FX over to another track and you copy all of the settings etc over too.

Why would you want to when you can simply control click drag?

Corling needs to RTFM, seriously. His last couple of threads have been like this, starting at Defcon One, ****ing about the lack of features that actually do exist.

Because it's better to use a method that doesn't waste RAM?

While I did NOT actually know about CTRL+Click > Drag, it is not particularly helpful if the tracks are not adjacent.

The feature I requested of copying to and pasting from an "FX Clipboard" has real practicality. It would be the fastest way to mirror FX from, say, Track 1 to Track 34.

It would be even cooler if I thought man I wish the fx on track 1 was on track 34 and sonar read my mind and did it......no clicks.......

You don't need to drag copy effects to the actual bin. You can drop it onto pretty much anywhere in the track header, the blank space of a track in the clips pane, or onto a channel strip in the console view.

Also, you can save effects as FX Chain presets if its something you go back to frequently.

Tracks don't have to be adjacent or close for Ctrl-drag to work. There's probably an issue at the keyboard/chair interface level.
