Password Change Failed

When trying to access the forums, I forgot my password so I followed the usual steps of clicking to receive an email confirmation to change my password. I received the new temporary password but when I attempt to log into my profile to update my password, I am experiencing frustration. I am asked for the temporary which I pasted into the field from my confirmation email. So far, so good. Next I attempt to enter a new password. I went with a password I could remember but was informed the password was too weak. I won't get too deeply into it being my account and that being my risk, but I tried a different password. In fact, I tried about 15 or so, each getting gradually more and more complex before moving up to a strength of "average", which the forum won't accept either. So I tried a 7 letter mixture of caps and lowercase followed by a string of numbers multiple digits long (over 5) and it finally accepted it, but then received an error that Password Change Failed.

Seriously, what's the deal with this? This is horrible. I understand the need for security but this is the most repressive system I've ever encountered! I don't mind the CAPTCHA or even some effort to assure users aren't inputting such simple passwords they can be guessed easily, but this is ridiculous and then to have it fail? I'm not sure if Cakewalk recently changed vendors or what, but they need to have a talk with them. I'm stuck. I can't change my password, so I supposed I'll need to go through the password change process EVERY single time I attempt to log onto Cakewalk!

Any insight would be appreciated.

Best bet would be to contact Cakewalk directly http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2839291

    Obviously not.  That's sad.
