Pasting from another project

How do you past from one project into a different one? Can you have two projects open at the same time?

thanks, michael

Why don't you try it? It's easy.

I have tried it, it's not working. If I could open both projects at the same time, I think it would work. But when I copy some clips from one project, then open the other one, I can't paste, the paste oprion is grayed out.

I figured it out, in a roundabout way...I copied the clips from the first project into a new project. Then I pasted those clips into the second project. there should be an easier way, though.

michael - I move songs/tracks from one file to another all the time.

Here's one way. Open both files. Select your first track by clicking the track number. Copy. Go to the other file. Select a target track. Paste Special (Control Alt V). Set your start time at 1 1 (which is 1:01).

    Should work like a charm.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Its an option. Go to Preferences-File-Advanced and uncheck "Allow Only One Open Project At A Time."

Thank you Dave. All other suggestions were academic as I could not figure out how to open two projects at same time. Now I know!
