Patch Points

I recently checked out patch points and like the idea of sub mixing in track view with the sub mix colored coded track next to the individual tracks in the submix.  Saves the time and screen real estate of going from tracks to buss views in console mode. But, found that when doing final mixing, sending these sub mixes to buss tracks makes it easier to mix the entire project, when all the stems are next to each other.  Very cool feature SONAR and I didn't think I would use patch points since they really didn't add any more features to SONAR, but to my surprise is a game changer in work flow in SONAR for me. Now, a question or request:  Is there a way to NAME the patch point tracks to be like "DRUMS" instead of PATCH POINT # n.  As my projects get more tracks, it makes it harder to know what patch point # track is what sub mix?

Thanks,
Jim

Have you considered using Aux Tracks?  They're typically used for the function you seem to be performing.  And they are named like any other track or bus, and, the names you give them show up in the output menu of tracks as you are wishing.

If you are limited to using Patch Points for a reason,  and are sending them to a bus, then for now at least, you're stuck with the numbered names Sonar assigns.

You can rename the patch points in the input/output menu.

Thank you both... I am not limited to patch points, just trying to figure out how patch points and aux tracks work.
