Patch/Controller Searchback problem

Hi,
I have a single midi track in a CWP file with NO patch or bank set in the track header but a single MIDI patch change event at bar 2 (Wurlizer Piano). It sets the patch fine when playing the sequence normally. The trouble arises when I set a loop point range and hit W twice which takes me to the beginning of my loop range. At this point Searchback is enabled and the patch is still intact on my Motif XS7 (I'm in Pattern mode and this is channel 3 if that helps anyone). The moment I hit  Play channel 3 is set to Jazz Guitar for no apparent reason. I thought it might just be reverting to the patch that is saved for channel 3 of the XS7 Pattern but Wurlizer Piano is the default patch so something is sending a bogus Jazz Guitar patch and I'm putting my money on X1.  I even set the Track Header patch to Wurlizer Piano but that didn't work either.
What I'd LIKE for X1 to do is search back to the most recent midi patch or controller even since I tend to put several in any given track. Is this how searchback is supposed to work or does it always just go back whatever is in the track header patch?

Thanks
Jeff

This is a pretty illusive issue but I think by monkeying around with it I *may* have figured it out or at least gotten past it for now. After setting the patch at bar 2 during playback I stopped and set the now time several measures ahead and hit Play again and the patch did not change. I kept moving the NOW time forward and hitting Play until finally the patch changed when I hit play. I then went into event list mode and did the same thing but no matter what event I selected, the patch would not change. I'm not sure when I did a bounce to clips in all this but I think that's what fixed it. In piano roll view I've noticed that when a note event is on the boundary of a clip that it's velocity bar shows up but not it's note. If I expand the edge of the clip I can see and then delete the notes on the border and beyond. Bounce to Clips must also fix this somehow by throwing the "ghost" notes (and events) out during it's processing. But it bothers me that the playback engine reacts to events in the track view that are not in the event view. While I'm on that subject I've noticed that I have to hit ALT-8 twice before the controller events at the start of my track show up. Both of these issues are bugs in my book. I'd say the synchronization of events between track and event list views needs some TLC.
