Pci Firewire card with TI chip

I can't seem to find one on newegg.  Anyone know where I can get one for aroung $30?  I'm giving my FW1804 to a kid and he needs a firewire card for his pc?

PM Jim Rosenberry..... he builds these things and would be up to date on the latest cards with TI chipsets.

I think the other chipsets might work OK...or not.... the TI chip sets are the best bet to work.

FWIW, The Tascam is one of the more picky units regarding FW chipsets.

ADS Pyro is a good TI chipset PCI FW controller.  (About $35 locally)
    SIIG is another

If you zoom into the pics, you can usually make out the familiar TI logo.

    Hello...

I got your answer... because I did the research already... An EBAY seller has a bunch of these cards... Windows XP sp3 and Windows 7 32/64 bit, have the right drivers for the Texas Instrument TSB43AB23 Adaptec AFW-4300 PCI cards. Check the manufacturer of your audio interface... but this is the best chip for all your firewire 400 needs... and all you have to do is plug it in, and Windows will see it, and enables it.

Here is the link... http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Por...h=item2eabe4a402  Has the desired TI TSB43AB23 chip set... Need a standard PCI slot in your computer... $8.49 free shiping!!! Was very fast Shipping... I bought two!!! at that price why not have a spare?

Using it with my Presonus Projects and CakeWalk 6.22 Pro in 32 bit and 64 bit...

    Have a Great Audio Life...

Thanks, I found an old thread where Jim said to get the Adaptec, in a thread I started a couple of years ago.  I orderd one for $10, guess I should have got a couple of them.
