Peace, dedicated to peace

I did not mean to put this, bit unfinished, one up yet but my semi likeable tunes are soon finished. Made with Sonar x1. Great software. I liked the Mc5 too, but Sonar had much easier editing imo. And some good synths. Comments welcome!

In another thread, you asked how one can garner more comments. Here's my advice (no offense intended, just free advice. lol): unless you are asking for help, don't put up unfinished stuff. Or, at the very least, don't start your post saying it is unfinished and you didn't really mean to post yet. I, for one, don't bother to listen to snippets or partially completed stuff because I can't judge it properly. Now, if you are stuck and are asking for help, that's completely different.

At around the 3:30 mark, this picks up quite nicely and the melody is strong and supported well by the arp and bass. It meanders a bit earlier on, so I would suggest focusing on that to make it a "song".

That is a good piece of advice. I know this but I try to explain why my tunes are not so good as I hope they were. But I guess I did not again think things through. It gets into the list anyway. Although, i have not touched sonar more than very briefly for soon a year I think so I haven't been able to finish the unfinished the stuff i at one point thought were finished. And when I realized they were not all ready I felt the need to do music exit and now that actually I start wanting back I got some problems that are stopping me. But I am going to start again as soon as things get better. Anyway thanks for the tips.

I forgot to say I should have not sent unfinished stuff but I was too interested in showing what tunes I still got and I enjoyed the forum thing so much I did not think(again) things through.

Hi Antti, as promised I finally got around to listening to the other track you posted a link to...sorry it a couple of extra days...working on mixes, filming video art and writing thesis...so I have a few things going.

Ok the mix is pretty good, again I'm just using laptop speakers, which are excellent for judging mixes because if a mix sounds fine on crap speakers...the mix tends to transfer. The crash cym needs a little work, try rolling off some of the top end and have a look to see if it's peaking in the mids because it's a bit harsh. Or just lower the gain.

Again like the last track you need to find a wow moment to elevate this sort of genre above the others who make music like this...you call my music eccentric but my stuff always has something going on because I'm always trying to hook the listener...which tends to be only me lol.

Maybe when your working on your next track, rather than reach for what you know...just reach for something new. Also try writing and mixing in automatic mode...this is don't think about what your doing...let the track guide you. If that makes sense. Think like a painter.

Thank you Ben again for a great review. My mixing and audio abilities are very low standard so I hear things not so great when it comes to these things. Again like most of my stuff this was unfinished and maybe some day soon I will fix things.
I wish I had stealth mode for my tunes. Now there is 3 of mineon the same page and close to each other. This was not my brightest idea, if I ever get those. Not your fault Ben they were already on the same page and you only kept your promise. Thanks again for commenting.
