Peavey Revalver

Anyone know how to authorize?  I have a serial number, account with XLN, etc., but got it all through Cake, and it ain't taking.  New built machine...

PITA for an OK plug given away "for free."  Too much time wasted on this stuff...

Stuff.

i have had the full versions of revalver 3 and 4, it's been a long time since i installed and activated/authorized, don't know if it would be the same as the 'lite' versions getting around, but i can't recall it being anything special. i'll have a look see what i can find.

if it's anything like the full version you have to have an account set up at the peavey revalver 'amp store' and you log in via revalver to authenticate and select a usb device for the licensing/authentication stuff. (there is a place to enter your redemption code etc)

Ok, thanks folks.  Since I got it through CW (?) it's actually linked to my XLN account, along with AD2.  I have the serial number, but XLN's site wanted an activation code and the serial didn't work (as the activation code).

As far as entering the serial in the plugin interface itself, I should have mentioned that it was actually a weird Windows 10 error (I think), something about administrator privileges not being able to write or apply or copy the license file or something.  It sounded like the plug wanted to authorize, but W10 didn't let it (?).  My W10 User Account is Local/Administrator, but I couldn't get around the error.

So there's that, if any W10 gurus have any idea.

Thanks again, appreciate it.  I have all the usual full-version plugs (GR 5, Ampl. 4, etc.), and they're awesome, but I do think Revalver brings a different sound to the table, so I don't want to lose it.

    Stuff.

I have an early version of Revalver.  I've tried a couple of models and didn't find anything useful.  I bought mine from M/F on a Stupid Deal of the Day cheap (like $14) so I didn't waste much $$.

Well, Peavey is now giving Revalver away (https://revalver.peavey.com/), and gives the option to "upgrade to the latest Amp Store gear when you are ready."  Looks like they've gone the IKM way, giving away the shell and robbing you blind through virtual gear stores.  Now THAT is a great business model (but not so good for us).  I wonder how the bare-bones gear included stacks up against the TH3-lite that CW gave away...

Plus, the free version requires a physical dongle, which I'd rather swallow than use to take up a slot in my machine.  So first choice would be do try TH3-lite, and maybe get the free one downloaded and dongle-ized anyhow, whether I use it or not...

revalver is an excellent amp sim, i own everything from the amp store, the act presets can be pretty awesome, as well as the rest of the act stuff, input and output modules, once you figure them out which is not to hard, but at first you can be left scratching your head thinking "that sounds like crap, how could anyone think that sounds good" but when you spend a bit of time messing with it it can sound truly awesome. of course whether or not something sounds good is a personal thing so ymmv. i own pretty much every software amp sim out there, and revalver has quickly become my number 2 after ignoring it for a very long time, the discovering the act goodness helped a lot there
