Pentagon Synth in Sonar 8.5.1 64 bit

I am not sure if this is possible or gonna be possible. I wanted to know with the new bitbridge will Sonar 64 bit users be able to use the pentagon snyth plugin. I was able to bring this up as an effect but I did not not see this in the avaliable synths that could be inserted. If anyone knows the deal on this one pls share.

Sorry for not responding sooner. I think I will have to look into reloading the Pentagon 1 & Dreamstation synth. I though they did not work on 64 bit systems. I have used these on my 32 bit system and used them a lot. Thanks for the info.

In the Sonar 8.5 "Read Me" file (Help::Read Me) it says that Sonar needs to be run as "Administrator".

Otherwise, the Pentagon I synth won't load.  Right-click on the Sonar icon and choose "Run as administrator".

So, did that do the trick?

If it did, you may want to change the title of the thread by adding "(SOLVED)" either at the beginning or the end of it.

Unfortunatly this did not solve my problem. Now trying to see if there is a way to re install these without having to re install the whole program. The weird thing as I stated before I can pull pentagon I up as an effect. I did contact cakewalk technical support for help also.

You don't have to reinstall the whole program.

Just dump your DVD into the drive, then select the items YOU want to be installed.

thank God for this thread. I had no idea I had to run as admin! Suddenly I can see a whole load of plugins I thought I'd lost! Dont understand why it works as admin but not as myself?

I cant insert Pentagon as a synth either although it does appear as an audio fx? Eh?

There's a way you can change permission for each user if you right-click the Sonar icon and go to Properties::Security Tab.  I'm just not sure what you need to do from there :-P.  Maybe do a search on how to change an app to open with admin rights.

I know this is old but just in case anyone is wondering how to do this....

Right click the program you want this to apply to and go to properties.  Then open the compatibility tab and check the box at the bottom.  Very simple.
