Perfect Space mutes my soft synth

How can this be?

I have a project with a bunch of midi tracks and some vocals.
The midi tracks are routed to True Piano, Dimension Pro etc.
Everything used to work fine (X1, 64 bit, Windows 7).

The other day, I opened the project. And: no sound from the soft synths! The meters of the midi tracks work, and if I route the midi tracks to the Microsoft Synth, I hear something. But the sunths that come with Sonar don't produce any sound.
I tried this and that... Nothing. I added new midi tracks and new soft synth - they wouldn't play. (That said, when I hit the keys  in the piano roll, I hear the notes.)

I sequentially removed tracks etc., and I eventually discovered that Perfect Space is the culprit. I used an instance on the vocal track. When I disable or remove it, everything works fine. How can this be? And why did it work a few weeks ago?

Thank you for your suggestions!

    Willy,

Setting the buffer to 700ms solves the issue.
