Perry Mason + James Bond =...

Perry Mason + James Bond = MAX DOUBT
Ha ha...Randy's post got me thinking' about the 1st song I wrote for a TAXI pitch.
They wanted a James Bond-ish theme and I think I had a bit of the Perry Mason influence in it as well.
This was done a few years ago before I had any samples so its all midi module...maybe I'll update it some day.

Hey, that's great. Loved the guitar sound.

You and Randy should hear Jerry Goodman's live recording of the Theme From Perry Mason sometime though. I found a short 30-second clip of it on the web (I don't own the record anymore since I got rid of all my LP's), but unfortunately it's just the intro and low bitrate at that. He really tore it up on the solo though.

    Hey, this is great!

This would be just fantastic to hear played with a real big band and have them really lean it playing really "sassy"

It really is the intersection of a JB and PM theme isn't? Fun!

OH MAN! THat slayed me!--__HEHeehehehehehe!---TOtally has that constant 6/8 Perry Mason groovy '50's piano thing going on, and the Ventures ala "Bond" lead guitar, and the swanky chord changes, the stabs et al

It is just great. Thank ye!

    RLD,
    pretty cool music ......
Hey man ...2003 ..and you were kicking a**
alright how far back do I have to go to hear a bad RLD learning curve tune?
you always sound good.....a while back I caught some of you alter ego surf music ...
    that was real good...also ...
I tried surfing only one in Virgina Beach ...couldn't stand up on the board ...and had my chest beaten purple by the board in the surf.
so I'll stick to draging my knee at triple digits on a Moto...

    RLD,

Oh yeah, very creative and fun. Guitar tone is dialed right in. Great mix of the Bond and Mason theme vibes. Good full mix, good arrangement. Very nice. Makes me smile.

    Thanks guys,
I did get a forward from TAXI on this, but the horns just aren't realistic enough for a broadcast.
Hopefully I'll remix it one day and sass it up!

    Hey RLD,
very nice work, a real shame about the sounds (what module was that?) i have old recordings which fall down on the artificial sounds too.
Still gets a great vibe across though.

RLD, what do you mean with TAXI? You mean that talent-scouting institution?
Anyways, thanks for sharing this great tune! What a wonderful arrangement!! I second what has been said re: the talents in this forum! I am really proud to be part of this great forum.
    Thanks again
    Heinz.

    Thanks Opa Slo,
Its a Roland M-GS64...I used to use it a lot...now it's pretty much my metronome...

    Hey Jim,
Thanks man. Glad you're diggin' Danger Zone...I pretty much suck at Country.

    Thanks Heinz,
    I wouldn't call TAXI a talent-scouting institution.
They are just a way to get your music on the desk of people who might have a use for it.

This tune is great and paints so many visuals in my head. I think great music does that. Anyone else picture Leslie Nielsen as a Detective walking around?

I just played this for my wife and she loved it as well. If I ever write a comedic detective series this song gets a nod from me :).

As a matter of fact, I just wrote a somewhat humorous detective mystery story that's a throwback to the old The Thin Man movies, with a county sheriff and his wife tossing barbs at each other throughout. I'll be submitting it for the Nelsen Algren Awards today. When someone eventually takes notice of my great genieass and asks me to expand the story into a TV series, I'll be sure to play Roger's tune for the producer. Shouldn't take long.... Yeah, that'll happen.
