Phasing Out
This is another old one. If I get inspired I will put a middle 8 to it. I still like it even with it's evident flaws. As always I would like some comments and such. Sorry for not posting fresh stuff. I have done some music, but not on the computer. https://soundcloud.com/madrigal7/phasing-out

Yes indeed. I knew I couldn't fool you guys so I had to fix it. Actually I had problems with putting the link and the presentation (it cannot be right but I am having troubles finding the right word) with my new phone (yes fellow cakesters I finally did it and bought a phone a Honor 7 which I like) and Firefox which eventually crashed. Luckily there are other browsers and with UCbrowser I was able to even paste the link to the tune. So try to enjoy:). Here is the link again: Https://soundcloud.com/madrigal7/phasing-out

Now I can't get it to work with my phone except with the Soundcloud app. Please somebody put a working link to the tune. My user name on Soundcloud is Tempomaster. The tune has been there for a long time so it should work.

LOL. I got 7 comments including mine and not one comment about the qualities of the tune... I just hate being me:D I always think that this time they're(by they I mean you) gonna love my tune but it never happens:(. Oh well. Back to the DAW... except that I haven't touched it for a long time. But I have played the piano and recorded it with my phone. And of course I do the humming thing also recorded by my phone. Well my next tune I plan on putting(actually I already put it in the Soundcloud but I gotta wait a bit I think before it is prudent(?) to release it to all you Cakesters) my perhaps best tune. At least it got a lot of feelings in it.

I just remembered I put it available to you Cakesters only yesterday so maybe it will still get a comment or two or 3 or 100 comments. That would mean I have gone to the Twilight zone. That sounds dated but I got nothing better.

Nice melody and a very relaxing vibe overall. None of the harshness I often hear in music in this genre. I like the shift from the main theme, very subtle but welcome at that point. Yes, a middle eight would be nice after the thematic shift. Sorry I'm grasping for words here, I'm an idiot. :)

Thanks a lot Reece. :-) this tune is from circa 2012. I cannot check it atm as I am staying with a friend who has been sick for a long time. There is no daw here. I used the Fm8 for the lead and the pad too iirc. I have over used it and usually the same custom sound with delay and phaser. For the bass I have usually used the SI bass synth's sub patch, the one weighing only 7 megabytes. My mixing those days was made with either my Grado sr60 phones or maybe I had already bought the mk5 Mackies. My mixing usually has been a bit like tossing a coin when doing the decisions. I have unfortunately also kept long breaks in the past also from composing because I often have felt uninspired and kind of unwilling to do work with my daw. Also being a bad player limits the quality of my backing instrumental work. The melodies I have managed to do just fine although I often must do a lot of fixing the timing problems(that is why I chose the name Tempomaster. It is a little attempt in irony) . Now I have recorded a lot of stuff while composing with the piano or me humming so it is a start in the right direction again. The humming recording I have done a long time though.

A middle section would be good but what you've got works pretty well IMHO. As others said it has a nice warm feel to it which is nice. Add a little extra phat on the drums and it could be good to go.

You are right. It is one of my trademarks to not to make enough variation. That is why I decided not to put the song I meant to put next here. It is called Peace and while I still like it I felt best to wait until I have made small variations to it to fulfill it's potential I believe it has. Unfortunately making the changes can take a while. Thanks for Your comment.

I really like this one Kakku. Another possibility might be to add a higher synth solo in the middle to mesh with the lower part, maybe fade down the lower synth part in places in leu of the higher part. Sounds pleasant as is though! Maybe limit kick to add some punch to it. Nice chord progressions.

Very nice indeed! This number has a very relaxing, easy-going flow to it. It also seems to have a melody that is more identifiable and consistent than most others that I have heard in this genre.

Oh I think it has a fair amount of variation... I just think a nice higher part would be a welcome addition too :-) And btw, variation is my #1 thing too haha. I constantly have to remind myself "Is my dad going to say 'when's it gonna change?'" haha
