Piano Roll Note Dragging: Maintaining Start Times for Non-Quantized Notes

I should have figured this out long ago, but anyway....In X1, when I drag notes up and down the scale in piano roll, it’s easy to maintain note start times by setting a desired snap to grid quantize.  But how do you drag an un-quantized note (or group of un-quantized notes) up or down, maintaining its unique start time?  For example, I have a C4 note that starts at 6:04:826.  I want to drag it (and other non-quantized notes) up or down the scale without changing the note’s start time.  If I turn snap to grid off, and simply drag the note up or down with the mouse, the note will also move ever so slightly to the left or right, affecting its start time.

Thanks.

    Hold down shift and drag.

Thanks jb101.  I should have thought of that.  I wish Cakewalk could make such things clearer in their X1 Help instructions too.

    Glad to help.

It also works with moving clips in track view.
