Piano Roll muting problem

I'm in comping mode, and have three midi tracks (T1,T2,T3).  In Piano Roll View, I want to edit (mute) notes in T1 only.  However, T2 and T3 show up as ghosted notes, yet get muted along with the T1 track.  How do I select just one track to edit, and leave the others alone?

    Mute the Clips in the Track View then enable "Hide Muted Clips" in the PRV View Menu.
