Picture Cache?

Can anyone tell me what the "Picture Cache" directory under the Cakewalk projects folders is and what it's for?  Can I delete it?  If not, should I clear it out periodically?  I ask because looking at the files, it seems to reference old (junk) stuff I worked on once.

SONAR Platinum, Win7 Home Premium 64bit, Sweetwater Creation Station CS250v21 (Ivy Bridge Core i5 3.4Ghz CPU, 12GB DDR3/1600Mhz RAM, 500GB/1TB Seagate Barracuda system/audio drives, SATA 6.0, USB 3.0), M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB, 2x KRK Rokit 5's, Yamaha MO8

The picture cache holds the images for the waveforms displayed in the tracks in Sonar so you don't want to remove that directory. If you feel some cleanup is needed you can delete the image files which will be recreated when you open a project(s). Sometimes this can be useful to resolve certain issues but in general it should be fine to leave it as is.

Do you mean the actual way the waveforms look in the track view? I guess I never thought about how they came to be there lol. That makes sense though. I'll probably delete the files prior to the next time I fire up SONAR to clean out the old crap then.

Thank you.

They will create bloat if you don't delete them. Just don't delete them while a project is open. ;-)
