Platinum - Installing all of the parts ?

I recently purchased Platinum upgrading from X3 Producer.  How did you handle the downloads?  Even though some of the parts are already installed, did you download them again anyway?  
 
I'm wondering if that make sense if I already have the same version of, say, Dimension Pro.  It would be easy if the command center knew what I already have and installed only latest versions.  Does it?  
 
If I install things I already have does it result in bloat?
 
Thoughts.  Anyone, anyone,... Bueller?
