Platinum WSOD if left idle in Win7 x64

I have a problem with Sonar running on the laptop I use for live gigs. It is running win 7 x64 and all of the power suspend/screen saver etc has been disabled. If I leave the laptop idle with sonar open and a playlist loaded for approx 30 mins, upon returning as soon as I try to do anything in Sonar I get the whited out screen, and the only way to close sonar us to use task manager. No other software on the laptop is affected (I also run DMXIS to control lights and Deckadance for break music)
I am currently running Dorchester, though I am not sure which version this started to happen in. I previously ran X3 on the same system and did not have any problems.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this or has any ideas?

Bruce.

Is your dmx controller usb? Sounds like your USB port is hibernating.

A few weeks ago, I locked up my studio for a few days and returned to it to find I had left my DAW powered on where I left it.  Sonar was still sitting there with the project open and I could literally hit play and continue on my merry way.  I have all my power saving features turned off too (except for my monitor, which goes to sleep after about an hour).

I'm pretty sure this was also with the Dorchester release.  I didn't have a playlist loaded though, so I wonder if your problem is playlist specific?  What happens if you just load a project and leave it?  Does it still lock up?

    Thanks for the responses.

My dmx controller is usb brando. It is plugged into a hub on the second port, where the external HD is also connected. I have power suspend deactivated on usb, but you are right - it does behave as though it is hybernating.

I am not certain whether the problem happens with just a project open Bill - I will have to check. I am fairly certain the problem is system or driver specific as it does not happen to Sonar in my studio either.
