Platinum creating tiny 4 KB wav files???

Why is Platinum creating all these tiny 4 KB wav files and placing them in my global audio folder?
All with names like this
Rec (1).wav
Except the numbers go from (1) to (88)
They're in groups of 8. 8 files have the exact same date,etc.  Today I was working on a song and went to it's project folder and I saw 8 of these 4KB files in it's folder. After closing Platinum those files have disappeared.
I'm using last month's version 2016.03   Does anyone have a clue what's going on here? Is it ok to delete them?

    From memory, they're to support one of the features like enabling record during playback. They're harmless and disappear when SPlat is closed as you saw, but I doubt you'll be able to delete them while it's open.

    You're right, they show up as soon as the song is open and then disappear when you close it. I suppose the ones in my global audio folder were glitches or crashes. I just deleted about 600 of them that have been around for a long time.

    I think there's one per audio input created (per project open?).  And they can get left behind if SONAR crashes.

    I have cleaned mine out before and there is no apparent problems but they will be back as soon as you record new material so why bother?

    In my case there were over 600 files in my global audio folder. I have a macro monitor my global audio folder because sometimes I find files like this in there
    VOCAL (Bounced, 536).wav 
     
    In the past Platinum was very good about always naming the wav files by the CWP name. For some reason now some files don't get that treatment. Some files are just named like the generic one above. Since I have recorded way over 4000 songs, I have to have Project Folders to keep organized and I don’t need to have files missing like the one above.
     
    So if something like that get’s into my global folder, I like to know about it right away so I can put it in the correct folder. This is why I want to delete these tiny files if they end up in my global folder, because I get a false alarm with my macro program.

    Is there a way to tell what song is associated with a file like this?
     
    VOCAL (Bounced, 536).wav 
    Is the song name embedded in the file?
