Platinum issues: AD2 and Waves
I installed Sonar Platinum and AD2. AD2 does not appear when I run Sonar. Do I need to install at least one ADPack first? In XLN online installer it doesn't show that I have it. I clicked register new product and typed in the AD2 serial number and it gave me access to install 3 ADPacks. That is why I am wondering if I need to install one for AD2 to appear in Sonar. Also, I keep getting and error about a missing Waves license. This is embarrassing but I did not buy any Waves anything (that I know of) so is it something that came with Sonar Platinum? What could it be? Thanks for the help!

in the xln audio online installer click the advanced button and you can see where the dll is installed to and if you need to have it move it to a folder that is being scanned by sonar. The waves thing, you must have a waves plugin installed somewhere!

Thanks I figured out the AD2 issue. I had to install an ADPack and then AD2 showed up to be installed with the XLN Online Installer. Now I just have to find what Waves is complaining about. I have not purchased anything from Waves so it must be something that came with Sonar.

Cakewalk does not bundle anything from Waves. A screen print of the error message may help.

You didn't take one of the free waves plugins that they recently gave awy? One knob pumper and Kramer Guitar channel have both been up for grabs for free lately.

I have not installed anything for Sonar since X3E (that I can remember). The VST3 scanner gets stuck when this dialog comes up. I searched and other people are having this issue (using other DAWs) and they just rename the VST file. Still, I would like to know what I have on my computer that is related to Waves.

Don't know how you got Waves on your PC. Cakewalk has never included any Waves plug-in with SONAR. It looks like a relatively new Waves plug-in because of the authentication scheme. It should be easy to locate the offending file(s) in the VST3 folder and remove them. I would also expect to see some indication in the Windows Control Panel Program control too. I don't use Waves so that is about all the help I can provide.

Did you ever install a Waves demo while using X3?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves is the default waves install directory (assuming you are on a 64 bit OS) and as Scook rightly says there is an uninstaller in the windows control panel.

Thanks for the help! I looked in control panel (programs and features) and sure enough there is a "Waves Complete" installed on 11/29/13. I looked in the plugins directory and there are some Waves plugins. I must have gotten them real cheap and never used them. The strange thing is I was not getting this error until I installed Premium today. I ran X3 and it has the error now to. That is why I thought something was installed with Premium. Again, thanks for the help in tracking this down. Now I need to find my licenses for what I purchased. lol
