For anyone just now updating to Play4 from Play3, I did this over the weekend and the end result is that it works great. BUT, to get to the finish line, I had to deal with a few issues:
1) The EastWest Activation Center is really nice, but it failed to recognize that some product actually were correctly installed and wanted to go and download a bunch of unnecessary files. Took a few logout/login attempts to get everything activated correctly.
2) Play4 installer does not remove the Play3 VST. Sonar said that it was loading Play4, but no libraries woulds load claiming that they were not installed correctly. Play4 was working fine standalone. It took me staring at the screen and trying to sort it out for a looong time before it dawned on me that the Play interface was different in Sonar than standalone. That's when I realized that Sonar was still loading the older DLL, but the libraries had all been activated to work with Play4. After finding and renaming the old DLL to .old (I don't delete anything until I'm sure), everything worked.
All in all, it was a frustrating 4 hours to convert to Play4, but now that I'm done everything seems to work just fine.
Did anyone else get the Hollywood Orchestra Diamond special EW was running? It came with the Hollywood Harp files on the Touro drive, but it doesn't show up in the Activation Center.

Dan
