Play and Stop lag

In certain projects and after some editing time (this time is variable) when press Play Sonar X1c take up to two seconds to really play.
When press Stop Sonar hang for the same time. In two cases this happen with or without Autosave enabled.
Tried uncheck "Play Effect Tails After Stoppong" and uncheck "Share Drivers With Others Programa" with the same lag in play or stop.
The only solution is close and reopen Sonar but the problem is back again in a few minutes of working.

    Hello Liberty,

What is your Playback I/O Buffer Size set at? A very large value will cause a noticeable delay upon starting/stopping playback if you have a lot of tracks since there's a lot of wavedata to load into the buffers.

The setting is in Preferences, Audio, Sync & Caching, File System, Playback I/O Buffer Size (KB). 64- 256 is a good value. Too low a value will cause stuttering; too high will be cause sluggish start/stop. This is independent of the Playback Sample Size setting for your Audio Interface.

    Thankyou Datadog,
My Playback I/O Buffer Size (KB) is 256, this problem is in my AMD Phenom X6 machine, my old Intel Q6600 work fine, both with similar settings and a fresh W7 install.

Or the problem really is your i/o buffer size. Depending on the computer I use, I've needed to have it up to 1,024 to have things running smoothly enough. 256 is minimal - try setting it higher, double that to 512 and see if that helps. rb
