Playback and record output choices

With my old Delta 66 internal sound card, I would have multiple input and output choices on my audio tracks, such as Left, Right, and stereo. With my newer Focusrite Scarlet 212, I don't seem to have that option. The box does have 2 inputs and 2 outputs, as the name implies. However, when I go to Options\Audio, on Sonar 8.5, the only choices I see, both on  Playback  Timing Master and Record Timing Master, is "1: Focusrite Scarlett ASIO Output 1." ( The Record timing master actually ends with "Input 1."

I would think I would have other choices that include the word "stereo" in them.  I have looked around to see where else I can activate this option, but can't seem to do this.
Any suggestions? I must add that one of the plugs that goes into the input of the Scarlett box had not been plugged in all the way. Perhaps when I downloaded the drivers, it only configured it for 1 input. Or, perhaps, this is the way it's supposed to appear, and nothing is wrong.
Thanks.

I'm sure a 2i2 owner will chime in with details, but I highly doubt the download process cares if you have only one input plugged in.

Timing master settings are not the same as setting an audio track input. There should be Left, Right and Stereo options in the input drop down of an audio track.

An audio interface has one clock. Whatever the choice it will still access only that one clock.

Thanks for the input (so to speak.) I was going to the clock options only because I thought that would bring down more choices in my track. As scook said, it is true that I can find a stereo INPUT for the Focusrite. However, for the line under that, labeled as "O" for output,  I only see "Focusrite Scarlett ASIO ouput 1." Shouldn't there be a stereo output also? I'm sure I may not be understanding the architecture correctly.

That's the way it is, If you had a Scarlett with more ins and outs you would only see the odd numbers
    1 Left = 1
    1 Right = 2
    1 Stereo

    3 Left =3
    3 Right = 4

And output will say either Scarlett Out 1 or Mon. 1 depending.
As explained it just the way Sonar see's the ASIO driver.

    Here is what they mean:

1 left = 1st input of sound card - mono recording
1 right = 2nd input of sound card - mono recording
1 stereo = 1st and 2nd input of sound card - Stereo recording

Between the last 2 notes, I'm confused again. This should make it simple. In fact, I don't even need a reply if I'm summarizing this correctly--though a reply wouldn't be objected to.

ON the ouput of a given Audio track, it reads: "Focusrite Scarlett ASIO ouput 1." Note, it doesn't say L, R, or stereo. My 2i2 has two inputs and two outputs. Thus, I am assuming that when I record a track from a stereo source, the output will go out in stereo--even though it doesn't say stereo.
    Thanks again.

Audio tracks should be routed to a master bus. The bus should be routed to "Focusrite Scarlett ASIO ouput 1." It should be easy enough to hear if the output is stereo.

Just remember ASIO ins/outs are all stereo, not mono.

That can be confusing in its current context as there are mono inputs and outputs for ASIO. They are just listed differently.
