Playing MIDI controller while minimizing SONAR

Hi all,
 
May I check if it is possible to play the MIDI controller even when the SONAR window is minimized / or when one is opening another program (e.g. web browser)?
 
I used to be able to do it, until I routed the sounds via audio interface / mixer and after doing so I realized everytime I minimized the SONAR window the sounds get muted.

    Uncheck 'Share Drivers With Other Programs' in audio preferences; when sharing is enabled, SONAR closes audio ports and gives up the driver when it doesn't have focus.
