Playing a Walkman into Cakewalk to record

Can somebody please help, i'm trying to convert a tape into a CD. I think the only instrument my cakewalk music creator recognizes is my webcam or something? could you please help?

    This thread deals with the subject of recording music from the internet and the principles apply to recording from a walkman, ipod or other device. some sound cards will do it internally, others you need to simply run a cable from the headphone jack into a line in of your sound card.

    If you are planning on editing and/or adding tracks to it, then this will work, but if you're just wanting the song recorded to a CD, then Pyro or Nero would do a better job.
