Forum users are always a minority in any community, if the issues were so bad the internet's would be aflame!

I'm not fussed on what they call the next version but an X1D would be great.

    ...yeah... kinda fun.... really.........

...No... dear mattox82, you are hugely wrong........

...as it appears quite clear, by now, that too many users, after a physiologic early time of euphoria brought by the apparent innovation, are EVENTUALLY widely complaining and  stating their dissatisfaction with X1, especially, but not only, far as the workflow and customization aspects......

...no fanboy or simply enthusiast (those few remaining...) can change the tide of the spreading uprising....

...and this forum is the natural, proper place to get the right mood.........

...sure, in the beginning there were people in the rush and happiness to try the new toy.... and so those first impressions and reviews were somehow unwillingly conditioned... ...However, I think fairest considerations can be better made after EXTENSIVE use and comparisons of a deep product...

...thus, if you look around now, in fact you'll see that complaints are increasing relentlessly.... and it's indicative of the fact that the early, too early, enthusiasm is now waned, and many are finally missing what once were the real SONAR strenghts....

    ...Cakewalk should seriously consider that....

Hmmm... I really don't think that's true at all.   From what I've seen there's been a core group complaining about X1 for quite a while now, and not all that many in the way of newcomers to the cause.   At least that's the way it seems to me.

Not that I'm dissing anyone's complaints mind you, I think many are perfectly valid.  I'd personally like some additional customization options so I can change the Control Bar around to actually fit my screen and do some color tweaking.  Oh, and I'd also like to see all envelopes at one time, using their regular colors.

    Hi, stevec....

    ...seek and you will find...
...the way it seems to me, and I've been involved in many of those "threads", instead, is that an increasing number of disappointed users, both long time ones and newcomers, are gradually regaining their sight through the mist that X1 carried with itself, eventually finding out its lacks and uncomfortable changes...
...Many blokes are now making themselves heard louder and louder... often recalling things like "I miss the way that feature was done in 8.5..."....
...on the contrary, few only, very few indeed, are still willing to find their joy in X1......

...I honestly believe it's more than impression...

...anyway... those customization options you recall (think about the X1's Control Bar's uselessness... worst, unbelievable, odd Cakewalk's choice of all times...) are asked for in every post and so LOUD around here...

...so, whatever next X.? will be called, let's hope they actually got the customization issue, at least...........

    Regards.

Ah come on. The people who are complaining now are overwhelmingly the people who started complaining as soon as the thing was released. In a couple of cases, the grousing started pre-release. I think you'd struggle to find people who liked it up until recently and have changed their minds. Can you name any?

While I agree about the Control Bar, I don't agree with this part at all.   Call it different perspectives, but I don't not see a mass of users finding everything wrong with X1.  And even more to the point, I definitely don't believe that "only a few" actually enjoy using X1.   I enjoy it, despite a few things I'd like to see changed.  At this point I actually like it better than 8.5 overall, which was also far from perfect in my book.    But I know that this fact isn't going to sway anyone's elses opinion of X1, just like other's opinions don't sway mine.

Anyway... There have been enough of these discussions on this board to last for years.   No sense going there again.   Let's just hope that an increased level of customization is available in X2 - or whatever they call the next big release - so that everyone can have their cake and eat it too.  Yum.

    News flash!!!!

In an unexpected turn of events, and a completely new marketing direction, it was stated that the next version of Sonar would be X3.14159...  codenamed pi in the sky by and by.

Concerns were quickly raised about the inexperience of the bakers - their vast past experience baking cakes, but their total lack of experience baking pi(e)s.

A company spokesperson responded that since it is well known that pi has an infinite number of decimal places, there would be plenty of revision numbers available to finally perfect the software.

I was kind of hoping the new version of X1 would be called 8.5.4 with a redesigned interface that worked just like 8.5.3.

(So it will probably be something like "Ping 2.9" or something.)

... and the whiners keep whinging?
And the fanboi's keep fibbing ...

Forum users are always a minority in any community, if the issues were so bad the internet's would be aflame!
Uh, so forums aren't part of the internet? Ok ... LOL.

Sorta reminds me of a post of mine from way back  http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2206656
