Please HELP!!!

I just installed a new sound card. My first recording attemt with the new card is not going well. I am getting all the audio from the other tracks on the newly created track. Can anyone help with this?

    Hey,

    I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and assume that you have a soundblaster type card. If so (and with most other cards anyways), go to your volume control (start-accesorries-entertainment-volume control). Change from playback volumes to recording ones, and change the setting from recording everything ("what u hear", "all" or something like that), to "mic" or "line". Now if you have other problems, please include more about what soundcard you used, what are your computer's specs, etc.
