Please Help
I am having a problem with my recording on Sonar producer X1, if anyone knows what the problem may be please help. What is happening is when I record on Sonar X1 my audio basically quantizes itself automatically I guess is the best way to describe it. For example if I start recording at 0001 and record audio until 0010, when I press stop the program automatically compresses the audio to 0001 to 0005, so the audio(vocals) will be pressed together and not on beat. It is random though, one day it just started to do it. I actually unistalled the program and reinstalled it and at first it was fine but then all of a sudden it was doing it again. I'm not sure if it is a setting or something but if anyone can help please let me know how u think this problem can be fixed because I am basically dead in the water until a solution is found. Thank you for reading

strange. it feels like your clips turn into groove clips automatically after recording.. :/ never heard of this. try and select one of the recorded clips, press ctrl+L and see if that helps.. if this is the problem I don't know how to deactivate this auto-function though :/

Without knowing what your computer and soundcard specs are it is impossible to give you an answer. My guess is that Sonar is set at one resolution while your soundcard is at another, maybe something like Sonar is at 44.1kHz while your soundcard is at a higher resolution like 48kHz or 96kHz.
The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better. because ctrl+L is the shortcut for making a clip into a groove clip. depending on the length of the clip (and more) sonar can change the clips length to fit the project's time

sorry, but your problem may for sure be caused by your audio interface. this one's not made for music production you really should consider buying one that is. you can get a quite good one for aound US$150 today check out focusrite's scarlet series for example meanwhile; try and download and install ASIO4ALL and see if it workes better after that. you need to activate the ASIO-driver in Sonar after the install http://www.asio4all.com/

Hi,first, you must use ASIO4ALL. When have installed ASIO choose this option in the Sonar's Preference tab. After this, use the internal clock in the Sync and Cache Tab. The last, tick the "use ASIO latency delay" on the same preference tab. Good luck.

You are a little bit confused. Your device,if installed,is Maudio,is not Microsoft High Def Audio Device. Change the Audio windows options and read the Sonar's Audio device install manual. Best
