Please help! Very frustrated! Cant click record button!

Hello. I am soon going to be recording raps with an m-audio fastrack usb ii and an akg perception 220 mic. Now I just got Sonar 8 producer edition and I was all excited until this. This might be EXTREMELY newbie but why cant i click the record button? I just wanna test it out by using my webcam and i already set up the drivers and the input as my webcam and stuff. But the record button is not clickable. Do i have to setup anything? I made a new project but i cant record. The way it looks is that the recod button is dark and faded but the play button is visible and bright and white. why cant i use the rec ording button? Im sure im leaving something HUGE out cuz im a newbie. Anyways hope you guys could help!

    what your really leaving out is your system specs..im just guessing without them.
    have you ingaged the record button on the track?

    Welcome to the forum and the bumps of a learning curve!
    Reading the manual is propably the thing you've left out :o) There's 1500 pages of info and tutorials on your DVD.
    You need to arm a track before you can record.
