Please help me with this looping task

Sorry I just can't figure this one out. So sonar has the cool feature of highlighting a section of a clip and by pressing Shift>space bar will solo and play the selected section (however, it plays and then looping is turned off). Here is what I would like to do:

highlight a section and have the now marker go to the beginning of that section (without having to click first and click again to highlight - if that makes sense)
have the highlighted section stay as loop points and loop until I stop it (but loop the whole song not just the clip)

Is there any quick way of doing this. thanks in advance -Jim

I know there are some shortcuts and tricks for moving the Now Time marker around, but I usually just click on the Time Ruler.

If you select a section of a clip, pressing Shift + L will set loop points that will stay. That section will continuously loop until you turn looping off.

If you click on a clip and press Control + L, it will convert it into a Groove Clip and set transient markers which you can see by double-clicking the clip.

    Shift g
This takes you to the beginning of a selection.

I also nap ctrl shift g to jump to end of selection.

Now you can click on any clip and go to the beginning or the end.

I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

thanks guys. those are some shortcuts I didn't know. I think the Shift-L will help. I would be nice to be able to highlight a section and have the now time automatically go to the beginning of the section that was selected.

Good point. The Loop Module is collapsed by default in Platinum, but it makes sense to expose it if you do a lot of looping.

As both these kinds gents have mentioned above...
I just make a selection, Hit SHIFT+L then hit SHIFT+G.
This should create the loop then take you to the beginning of the loop.

You can also use the CTRL+ PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN shortcut to navigate one measure at a time.
This is not very commonly known (at least I don't hear too many talk about it much) but it is very helpful in navigating.

A few years back, I printed 10 pages of shortcuts out, now I know 90% of them by memory.
    Shortcuts are mans best friend.

Great thanks again guys. The Hit SHIFT+L then hit SHIFT+G works great. It would be nice if the now time just went automatically to the beginning of the selection but I'm just being nitpicky and need to bone up on my shortcuts. Once I get into it the SHIFT+L - SHIFT+G it's actually pretty quick. I appreciate the responses! -Jim
