Please help me with waves 9.3 install (SOLVED)
Had to reinstall 9.3 due to having to roll back In win 8.1 to a restore point before waves 9.3. I've removed every trace of waves from the registry but it just won't pick up the VST3 plugins. The wave shell for VST3 installs but there is no connection made with the plugins. The 32 bit plugins are installed but not working correctly. SOLUTION. After all I had done to delete files and registry keys there was one all important folder that held several txt files which related to previous installations. These txt files provides the link between the waveshell dll and the location of the plugins themselves. Makle sure to save any preferences for waves before deleting this folder because that's where they live. %appdata% Roaming\Waves Audio After deleting that one folder the installation proceeded smoothly. Thanks to Lior at Waves tech support.

Do you have Waves WUP? If so, they know exactly what to do. Otherwise, I can tell you (away from my DAW at the moment), that the WaveShell.dll and the actual plug-ins are not in the same place. But you just have to make sure the WavesShell.dll in your C:\Program Files\(VST directory) (not just the C:\Program Files x86), and that directory is obviously searched for in the VST Settings of Sonar.

Tech support is only available for those that pay for the WUP that's why I came here as I don't have it. I only have a few waves plugins.
I was hoping that someone here had had a similar issue and could help me.
The wave shell VST3 version is installed in the default location which sonar scans. There is a folder where the waves plugins I have are installed ie Program files/waves/plugin v9. I've done the obligatory reset and rescan but all to no avail. For some reason the 32 bit version works. I've tried renaming the 32 bit dll so it doesn't get scanned in the hope that the VST3 version does but alas, no workie.

I believe the VST3 folder is in C:\program files\common files VSt3. For 32bit it should be in C:\program files (86)\common files\VSt3/ Put one of these paths in Sonar and you should be good to go.

I know what the paths are and they are the ones you suggested and Sonar does scan those paths. But for some reason there is no connection being made between the shell and the plugins.

Hey Mike did you get the problem resolved. I had a problem where whenever I wanted to install a new Waves plugin I had to delete all the waves plug-in entries from the registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory. After doing this I was able to re-install everything. I curious to know what is causing your issue. Sorry if I'm not much help on this.

Waves sent me some info today but I've not had time to implement it yet.
I've done the registry clean out of all Waves references but that didn't help.
I'm really stumped because it was all working fine until I did a system restore.
I'll update once I've done the Waves "fix" tomorrow.
