Please help with installing X1

Sorry for the double post, but I desperately need some help!!

I got X1 Producer Part 1.exe installed, but not part 2 of X1....

(STEP1: I ran 02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part1.exe which apparently "unpacks" and installs the content and then 02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part2.rar file).

I ran into an installing problem with 02_SONAR_X1_Producer.part2.rar file: when this unpacks, I get 3 folders: "Documentation, Install, & Utilities". I clicked on the "Install" folder and get this:

    Setup-6.bin <--
Setup-7.bin
Setup-8.bin
Setup-9.bin
With all 4 files having the same icon before them (the one where Windows can't recognize the program needed to open it). I'm using Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

Why isn't Vista recognizing the "Install" files and how do I fix this?

Thanks,

far as i remember, unpacking part 1 of the the down-load also unpacks part 2 and creates the installer. so if, after unpacking part 1 there is a setup.exe file in the folder, just run that and you're good. hope this helps.

Below are the downloads and Part 2 is a Seperate .rar file (when opened, I get the problem I'm having):

    1. 01_Read_First_SONAR_X1

    2. 02_SONAR_X1_Producer part1

    3. 02_SONAR_X1_Producer part2

    4. 03_Beatscape_part1

    5. 03_Beatscape_part2

    6. 03_Dimension_Pro_1.5_Expansion_Packs

    7. 04_Dimension_Pro_1_5_Setup

    8. 05_SONAR_X1_Producer_Additional_Content

So, I should skip Part 2 on continue with the install?

    Hi!

I had the same problem when I was installing X1. What I discovered was that Google Chrome's downloader had (for some reason) not downloaded the whole file so I downloaded both Part 1 and Part 2 again and everything worked fine. This happened for the Beatscape downloads too.

Check the size of your downloaded files against the actual file size and see if this could be your problem. I looked in my downloads folder and Part 1 was something like 2.1 GB and then I started to download again from Cakewalk to see the original file size which was something like 3.1 GB (I'm just making up these sizes because I don't really remember what they actually were). I then was careful to download the files again one at a time and that time I got the full size, installed Pt 1 and then Pt 2 was automatically opened by the installer and everything was fine.  A little aggravating - but I finally got it all installed.

    I hope this helps!

+1. That's what it sounds like to me. When you run the part1.exe file it will also unpack the part2.rar. You shouldn't have to do anything with the part2 file. If you do, then your download may have been incomplete.

    Mary, Dave, & Stratman,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank you!!!

I just used Firefox to download those files and you're right Mary, the sizes were different using Win Explorer.
I appreciate your help.....(I was starting to run out of options). Thanks again!!

Before coming to work this AM, I installed all the patches including X1b and it fired up (but, had to leave to get to work)!!

Would you know if the X1 downloads of Dimension 1.5 & Beatscape are the same as what comes in the 8.5 PE DVD's? (I downloaded them as well, but haven't installed yet)?

    Hi Mesh,

I'm almost positive that the Dimension Pro is new, I don't know about the Beatscape. Check the 8.5 version numbers against the X1 version numbers (if you can) to be sure.

Before I installed the X1 upgrade, I cleaned all of the old stuff off of my PC so I can't check them against the new ones.
