Please help with staff print out
I was trying to get 2 songs done (that we hope will be published in a Spiritual song book) and made the mistake of recording them in the same project. I went to print the first song and realized I couldn't separate them in the print process so I saved and then deleted the second song. I hit "go to end" and it does go to the end of the first song but still shows all the extra measures with the double bar way out at the end of where the second song ended. Is there a way to tell X1 where the end is or will I have to copy/paste everything into a new project. Your advice always appreciated! Thanks very much, Randy

Is there a print preview option that might let you select a range of pages? Have you checked you event list to confirm that there are no unnoticed items that may be holding the project open at the end? Just throwing out some ideas. best regards, mike

Unfortunately, I would really suggest the following... Consider getting an entry level version of either Finale or Sibelius, and import your file. While one can print a lead sheet or very basic things using Sonar's notation, there is simply far too much that it does not/cannot handle well. The output quality will also be much higher. Especially, if you are going to need to do more printing going forward, IMO, it is best to use something other than Sonar. It will likely save you a lot of grief in the long run (once you've learned to use the notation program). The lack of solid notation is one of Sonar's long ongoing major weaknesses. Also, if by chance your pieces include any triplets, Sonar will be unable to display them correctly.

Event list shows there's nothing past the actual end. Another weird thing I noticed in the X1 staff view is if you click on the staff at the top (to put the cursor on a certain measure ) the mouse jumps out of the staff view onto my primary monitor. Anyway, I guess I'll just copy/paste to another project. Thanks again, Randy

Yessir I know about the shortcomings of Sonar's staff...certainly disappointed they didn't address the triplets issue yet.

Well I copy/pasted just the piano clip into a new project and there still is no double bar. If I scroll the staff (or track view) by pushing the right arrow at the bottom it scrolls indefinitely (I stopped at measure 700 plus). So at this point I'm thinking I'll have to draw in the double bar because the deadline is midnight.

Just for the hell of it I started a new project and placed a few notes in the first couple of bars then went to staff view and there is no double bar. Can someone tell me if this happens in 8 or 8.5 also (I did a fresh install of Win 7 when I installed X1 ). If it keeps a double bar at the end (and then moves down the timeline when adding more data) I can install SPE8. I would just install them to find out but don't want to spend a couple of hours to find out it has the same behavior. I know I have printed out scores in the past that ended the piece with a double bar but can't recall which version (could have even been SPE7) I would sure appreciate someone letting me know!!! Edit: never mind I just found out that the project I copy/pasted to will indeed put the double bar in I just had to actually go to print to see it...thanks very much guys!
