Please return the Staff and Piano View Editing Tool Bar.

I have been using Cakewalk for almost 30 years or so. Whatever happened to the audio preview (scrub) tool in Staff View?
I am using Sonar X3 now. The Scrub tool is completely missing in versions running in Windows 10.
The Scrub cursor tool icon was a button that had a picture of a speaker on it. [<))].
It allowed me to audit notes in Staff View and did so for as many staves I had in the window at the time.

I did find a key combination among the KBs on the web. It modifies the cursor like it is going to work but produces no sound.
I am a composer. I do a lot of part writing. I often can play what I want long before I can tell you exactly what it looks like.
I have been depending on Cakewalk for live MIDI capture I can analyze, understand then clean up.
I really do need a working audio preview tool to be working.

Please help.

PS
The full Tool Bar was like: [{ }], [ / ], [ Q ], [ <))]    [o], [d],
 Select  [{ }],  Insert  [ / ],  Delete [ Q ],  Scrub [ <))] ,   Then Note Durations   [o], [d], ... ,   [Layout],  Resolution,  [ ] Fill,  [ ] Trim
This Tool Bar was immediately below The Transport Controls where the Tempo and Time/Key Signature interfaces where found.

I do have screen shots that I have saved I can send if you like.

In X3, you hold down the 'J' key while dragging the cursor over the section you want to hear.

X3 is also missing the MIDI footprints button, where you were able to step through the notes on a staff view, note by note and hear the song as you were editing it.  And you could go in either direction.  It was great.  I used that feature all the time, but it no longer exists.

Cool, Greg!  I just did it and it works.  Thanks for educating me on my SONAR.  :)
