Pluggo Pollution

I played around with the Pluggo demo (which put close to a hundred little effects in my VST effects folder) a few weeks ago. Long story short, it wasn't my cup of tea.

The problem is that even after I've uninstalled it, I'm left with tons of non-existent plugins in my VST Effects and Synth menus. In my attempts to get rid of them, I've tried re-scanning my plug-ins with the VST Adapter and manually deleting them all with SubSonar, to no avail. How do I get rid of all the unwanted menu items?

    Hi

Isn't there a reset option you have to use first before rescanning. I seem to remember that. I know there was another similar thread to this recently and I remember it saying reset first then rescan.

    I'll look for the thread

    Regards

Yeah, there's a reset option in the VST Adapter which is easy to overlook. That will clear out the lists and then when you rescan you'll get a fresh list of only what's in your VST effects folder(s).

As in PACE, or something different? I downloaded it too, but haven't installed it yet...

Yes, iLok is the bad-boy driver associated with PACE. I was curious about Pluggo, mainly because of how cool Max and their other stuff are. But now they can forget it.

The full version of PLuggo installs PACE. If you just need to install the free pluggo runtime jr though for using Tritone or other vst plugins, then PACE isnt installed. Im seeing more and more plugins piggybacking onto Pluggo runtime jr, and Ive been running it for sometime with no problems.

But the full version is IMO shiite. Hundreds of average effects that just clutter up everything. And PACE. Yuk.

I just double-checked, and it is pluggo jr that I had downloaded, not a demo (unless jr is a demo?). So, based on what you are saying this version of pluggo does not install PACE or any of its derivatives?

No PACE. But the runtime jr is only good for using other plugs like Hydratone, or the free plugs from Pluggo which are worthless IMO. If you are going to be demoing any of the Tritone plugs (which are great) then you need runtime jr installed. If you havent installed it yet and its the 351 version, I would download the new 352 version and not even install 351. But if the only reason you are installing it is to check out the pluggo freebies, Id pass on that one. There are many other better free vst plugs available that dont need to piggyback onto an executable application.
