The Brainworx ENGL Amp Bundle brings to the native plugin world a quality of guitar amp emulation previously only available to users of DSP-based systems. These feature three different ENGL cabinets recorded with up to 9 different high-end vintage and modern microphones through Brainworx’s NEVE VXS72 console, and a stellar array of boutique outboard gear. The resulting tones, which would take tons of gear, time and expertise to achieve by traditional means, can be selected from a simple menu inside the plugin.

    I liked these on the UAD platform -- they bear a sonic and functional resemblance to the native brainworx bx_rockrack plugin that's been out for a while, so fans of that one might want to give these a demo.  They offer additional flavors beyond what bx_rockrack can do, I'd say.
     
    It'll be interesting to see how long it will take for the latest UAD-exclusive brainworx amps -- including my current favorites, the Friedmans -- to go native.  Seems to be a safe assumption that it'll happen eventually, although there are a few older brainworx plugins that are still UAD-only like the Shadow Hills comp and the Dangerous BAX EQ. 
     
    Anyway, one can't have too many virtual guitar amps, right?  :-)
