musicman100 Anybody use character? is it kinds like BBE/APHEX? I demoed Character a while ago, and thought it was a decent exciter. Not in the same league as FabFilter Saturn, by any means, but usable. I managed to get similar results from Ozone's exciter module, so I didn't buy it. Character is certainly easier to use, though. But if you want a taste of the "real thing," I'd advise looking at CDSoundmaster's Vintage Tube collection. There's a free demo of one of the tube models ... when I tried that, I thought, "now THAT sounds like real excitement!" Tube saturation, that is ... closest thing to the actual sound of vintage hardware that I've heard ITB. Made me intrigued about the whole Nebula thing (CDSM's plugins are based on Nebula tech). http://cdsoundmaster.com/site/cds-software-online/vtcplugin.html Note: no affiliation, just a customer. Cheers, Eddie

Thanks you, Laney! I just bought it. I haven't demoed it but have heard the $4000+ hardware unit and it sounded fantastic. My best description is that is sounds like an enhanced Pulltec. The only thing I'm a little wary about is that I've read that it uses quite a bit of cpu, apparently because each band uses a separate 'circuit' to emulate how the hardware is built.

It is very nice and can be used multiple ways. Today $99 for bx RockRack PRO! I said I wasn't going to buy this but, I didn't think it would be $150 off.

Sorry I just got it yesterday and was using it to master a song I recorded. It really did a nice shine on the vocals and the acoustic guitar. The song is going to get recorded by a Swedish singer, yeah me! Still learning the plug but I like what it does. Mainly a mastering plug is what I intend to use it for.

SEVerstraten Today's deal: SPL DrumXchanger. Anyone using this plug? I haven't used it and never really paid much attention to it until today. It has TWO of the SPL transient designers built into it! Watching the videos, it looks pretty impressive, but not something that I think I'd use enough to justify buying.

Just picked up BOOM. After reading the soundonsound review and seeing the $35 price I just couldn't resist. Plus it appeals to my sense of simpleness and I like to see the little bass drum turn upside down.
